About the course:
Our Champion courses are for those persons that will act as Champions for their QMS, EMS or OHS systems. Our new ISO9001-2015 Champion is targeted at helping Champions to "be in the know" so that they can best perform their Champion role in their organization.
The Champion course is a complete and thorough review of the new ISO9001-2015 standard. We’ll cover a brief history of Quality leading up to today’s QMS. Then we’ll fly over a list of new requirements before we drop down to the detail level for a detailed analysis of ‘What’s that mean to me”. We’ll use QAI’s coveted learning matrix approach to help students understand how to break down technical documents of any kind into useful chunks of information that you can actually use. Also, a new risk assessment module and activity has been added to the course to help students with the pervasive requirements for risk assessment and evaluation.
Students learn the standard, what is new, what has changed, how it has improved, and what it means to them. They learn a methods to conduct risk assessment and analysis activities that will meet new requirements and that will help the QMS to continue to improve.
In the QMS module of the course:
Day 1 and most of day 2
· A brief history of Quality leading up to the latest ISO9001-2015 revision.
· A bulleted listing of new requirements embedded into the newest revision.
· A detailed review of the standard itself utilizing QAI’s Technical Clause Learning Matrix.
· Tips for system managers and tips for QMS auditors
· How ISO9001-2015 builds, improves, and changes how a 2008 system implementation.
· How to apply the knowledge by viewing video case study examples.
· A Risk Assessment activity has been added to our Champion course to help students understand a method that can be used to meet the requirements pervasive throughout the new ISO9001-2015 standard. This activity and method has been utilized in our ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 courses for over a decade. It is a "tried and true method" that will help you to not only understand how to implement Risk Assessment and Awareness, but to use it to improve your Management System and pass your ISO9001-2015 audits.

The course includes a complete and thorough review of the ISO9001-2015 standard including a look back at the history of quality leading up to the current QMS system. Our "big picture" course section helps cement the financial side of the QMS and helps students to best understand how a QMS really works ($$).
With emphasis on the latest release of the QMS standard, there will be discussion on how things changed, why things changed, and how to go about meeting the new requirements.
A risk assessment activity has been added to the QMS Champion section of the course. In the risk assessment portion of the course, QAI instructors will walk you through a method to evaluate and rank risks for your QMS Processes. This is a method already in use in our other lead auditor courses. It utilizes risk assessment and analysis. Students learn what is intended by the standard, how to conduct a risk assessment, how to evaluate the results, and how to formalize a plan to mitigate known risks. They will learn how this already "tried and true method" will help your company not only meet the new requirements but help your system to improve. The Risk Assessment activity is included on both the Lead Auditor and Champion courses.
Lecture topics will include implementation and documentation strategies and methods. Workshop and video case study activities are designed to strengthen the student's ability to assess a QMS system and its conformance to the standard.
Students leave with an improved understanding of the QMS and their role in its implementation at your organization.

About the onsite only version of this course
The onsite version includes all of the same content as our Certified Champion course, but we do away with the testing, scoring , and grading that may be important to persons that attend a certfiied version of the course. Doing away with those activities and the rules that we have to abide by when administering our certified courses. This provides our instructors the opportunity to stay engaged with your group rather thna focus on some of the required administrative duties. This provides us time to discuss points in more detail, allow for more in-depth questions and postering by your people, and provides our instructors the opportunity to help close gaps and improve understanding.
This version of the course was brought to you by listening to our customers who told us we want that kind of training but we don't want to force our Champions into testing and analysis because it isn't required of us.
